Hyundai's New Verna (Accent) Makes Global Debut At Toronto Motor Show

Hyundai Verna 2017

Hyundai has unveiled the Accent (sold as the Verna in India) globally at the Toronto Motor Show

The Accent will be sold as a sedan, and upon the first glimpse, the car looks similar to the new Hyundai Elantra, featuring similar front design, along with the grille and headlight.

The design, in fact, is inspired by the new Elantra, which is seen on the exterior as well as the interior. The new Accent receives aluminium platform, which makes the car light and strong, resulting in a much more engaging car to drive.

The interior of the new Accent has also been updated, keeping the same design theme in mind. On the mechanical front, a 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine will drive the car, and India could receive the 1.4-litre engine too.

Hyundai promises more usable power and better mileage efficiency, also claiming that mileage figures are up by 7 percent with the new car.

The updated Accent, or better known as the Verna will make its official debut in India soon, and when it does, will compete with the Honda City, Volkswagen Vento, Skoda Rapid, and other sedans in the segment.
