Honda WR-V India Launch Date Announced

Honda India recently launched the much-awaited 2017 Honda City and received an overwhelming response for the sedan.

Now, the company is gearing up to launch the WR-V on March 16

On the design front, the company has worked hard to keep the styling distinctive; the WR-V is a hatchback crossover derived from the Jazz. Overall, the styling is fresh with a high bonnet line, roof rails, and plastic cladding, giving it a rugged appearance.

The Honda WR-V will carry the same engines as seen in the Honda Jazz and it will be powered by a 1.2 litre petrol and a 1.5 litre turbocharged diesel engine. The power and torque figures in the WR-V are expected to remain same at 87 hp and 110 Nm for the petrol variants, while the diesel trims will deliver 100 hp and 200 Nm. The petrol engine will come with a 5-speed manual transmission and a CVT (Continuously variable transmission) might be on the cards. The diesel variants will only have a 6-speed manual transmission.

Some standout features to look out for on the WR-V are the touch screen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and climate control air conditioning.

The Honda WR-V is expected to be priced between Rs 7 lakh and Rs 10.5 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi and will compete with the likes of Ford EcoSport, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai i20 Active, Mahindra TUV300 and Toyota Etios Cross in its segment.

The new 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel engine comes in two states of tune - 150hp and 180hp The Land Rover Discovery Sport is set to become the next model from JLR to receive the new 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel engine in India. Currently, the Discovery Sport is the last product from JLR to use the 2.2-litre diesel in India. It also brings the model’s engine range in line with the SUV maker’s international portfolio. As per the automaker’s website, the new 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel will be offered in two states of tune – a 150hp derivative and a more powerful 180hp variant. The 150hp derivative will be offered in lower trim levels while the top trims will use the 180hp unit. The nine-speed automatic gearbox from the current model will be carried forward . Interestingly, with the update, the more powerful diesel is also set t...

The illustrations preview a super aggressive design for the new Sonata with angles and creases and lines everywhere; however, expect most of those to disappear by the time the actual car comes out later this year. The facelifted Sonata is set to retain the turbocharged 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre petrol engines that currently power the car and the facelifted car could even keep hold of the quad exhaust design for the sportier variant. We are still not sure when the new Sonata will debut but with the car's popularity in the United States, an unveil could be expected at the New York Auto Show in April. The Hyundai Sonata facelift may not be due till summer, but Hyundai have already taken the...
